YES on Term Limits! SQ 736 ~ Nov. 2008

James Dunn, Oklahoma attorney and Chairman of "Yes on Term Limits", has filed a petition seeking to place term limits on 'other statewide' offices ie: Lt. Gov, State Auditor, Attorney General, etc. The proposed State Question 736 would place two-term limits on these offices which are for a 4 year term.
In other words, termed after two - 4 year terms or total 8 years!

Oklahomans adopted term limits for the job of Governor back in 1966. In addition, in 1990, the people voted overwhelmingly for term limits for State Legislators which went into effect in 2004. (ed: 67% of voters voted for term limits for Legislators in '90, stats show MORE favor them now)
Dunn says they hope to have the question on the November 2008 ballot. If passed would apply to those elected to office in 2010 and thereafter.

(ed:) GREAT idea! As we see continued and expanding corruption in public office, the people need more tools at their disposal with which to manage their government! Where do we sign!

btw....The people (who pay the tab) also need to revisit retirement and pension benefits (structure of the system) of elected officials.
